and the after…


Well, it looks as though they’ve made a few decisions, touched things up here and there. This is from today, three months after the initial pic below. It’s as if they’ve taken all the parts off the Mr Potato Head that the creative kid put on. Admittedly easier to digest, if boring on the palate. Still no plants, but at least there’s dirt. And maybe the ghosts of a few buried dolls.

If I can refocus this on the literary: a poem, appropriately cut…

Roots ripe as old bait,
Pulpy stems, rank, silo-rich,
Leaf-mould, manure, lime, piled against slippery planks,
Nothing would give up life:
Even the dirt kept breathing a small breath.
